Train Load Bin Roof Replacement

Project Type:

 Industrial

Project Location:

Western Australia

Project Summary:

Scope of Work included the installation of a scaffold to provide access to the top 2.0m of a Train Load Out Bin Roof for a roof replacement.

Customer Challenges:

Reduce impact on Train Loading Schedule and limit scaffolders' exposure to Working At Height above the train track.

AT-PAC Solution:

  • The solution was to build a cantilevered scaffold module on the ground (minimizing work at height) to allow for the modules to be craned and set in place around the TLO bin. Once the modules were connected around the TLO bin the top 4.0m of the scaffold were added for access per the scope.
  • AT-PAC provided conceptual design to the client whereby removing the need to stick build the scaffold in a traditional manner from the ground up.

Impact:

The project impact was a vast reduction in man-hours compared with the clients' original scoping projections. This translated as direct cost efficiency across the project.

A short 4-hour window between trains was enough to build gantries over rail corridor allowing working at height without impacting the train loading schedule.
